ARTISTDirect Review is another portal to download free music, videos, news, and be a part of a shared-music community.

Under the same umbrella of Artistdirect, Inc are two other portals such as for artists to better promote and market their music and other being in association with the famous band Blink-182.

The portal used to be a big thing sometime in the 2010s, but not anymore.

In this Artistdirect review, we rate the service on following parameters:

  • Website experience
  • Music Library
  • Music Quality

You can check out our suggested list of legal websites to download free mp3 music online such as FMA, Internet Archive, CCTrax, BeSonic, etc.

Website Experience

Well, the website still has quite an old user interface. Compared to the new age music download websites such as Jamendo or PureVolume, they badly need a makeover.

You can find the News, Artists, or Videos or search for the music from the Menu Bar.

On the homepage, you can find the latest music interviews and videos uploaded on the site. There’s also a top 100 list of songs available on the right. That’s mostly a featured list of songs. You can also find affiliate links to buy music.

ARTISTDirect Interviews & Music

There’s no app for the portal, it is ad-free but has affiliate links as mentioned.

Also, the website doesn’t open in other countries apart from the US.

Therefore, I’d not give it more than a 5/10.

Music Library

The library does not have many songs as compared to other free music platforms such as NoiseTrade, SoundClick, etc.

Also, not all the songs available are free to download. Make sure to check the licenses before you download anything.

You can find many country songs, rock, hip-hop, pop, etc. on the portal. There are music and news from many famous as well as short-lived artists such as Metallica, Jennifer Lopez, Mad at Gravity, Uncle Kracker, Z-Ro, Echo Echo, etc.

They claim to have more than 500,000 artists on the site!

For the library, I’d say it’s 6/10.

Music Quality

Well, the music downloads are available in MP3 formats from many artists. However, you will be disappointed with the number of options you’ll have.

For the quality, I can give it a 5/10.
