One of the best short Halloween movies for kids to watch and the first on my list.

Michael Myers (Tony Moran) murders his 15- year old sister at the age of six on Halloween in 1963 and is sent to a mental institution. After 15 years, while he is being transferred to another facility, he escapes back to his hometown in hopes of finding more victims to kill.

This Halloween movie tragedy takes place on a Halloween night and is one of the most brutal movies to watch.

3.    The Addams Family (1991)

The uncle of the famous Addams family named Fester has been missing for over 25 years. A guy claiming to be the uncle has appeared, and the family is both thrilled and excited. But Morticia starts becoming sceptical of his identity. The fake Fester with the help of a lawyer throws out the Addams family from their home.

The Addams family has got to be the best Halloween themed movie ever and thus makes my list of top Halloween movies.

4.    Hocus Pocus (1993)

This movie is a story about three sisters who practised witchcraft 300 years ago and were punished via execution. In 1993, they were accidentally brought back to life on Halloween. The three have only one day to become immortal or will perish forever.

When evil has only one day that is Halloween to succeed in their endeavours.

5.    The Nightmare before Christmas (1993)

Jake Skellington is the king of Halloween Town but is tired of the same thing every year and wants to do something new. That’s when he comes to Christmas town and wants to bring its concept to his town, but the bats and goblins are not getting anything right.

6.    Double, Double, Toil and Trouble (1993)

Twins Kelly (Mary-Kate Olsen) and Lynn’s (Ashley Olsen) parents have to sell their home as they are in massive debt. The whole family visits Aunt Agatha (Cloris Leachman) during Halloween to spend some family time and also ask her for a loan which she blindly refuses. The twins then hear a story by Agatha’s gravedigger about a moonstone that has the magical power to help anyone and decide to find it to end their family’s debt.

7.    Scream (1996)

This movie is about a serial killer clothed in a Halloween costume of a ghost-like face and black robes who makes phone calls to Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her friends before killing them one by one. But who is this person and why is he after them?

8.    Halloween H2O (1998)

This film is the continuation of the Halloween movie where Michael Myers killed his sister Judith on a Halloween night in 1963. Michael is now after his other sister Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) who faked her death to escape her brother, but Michael has found that she is still alive and tracks her down.

9.    Halloween town (1998)

The children see her performing magic and are so curious that they follow Aggie back to Halloweentown.

10.  Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

The movie focuses on five different stories that take place on Halloween day. A tale of a serial killer principal, story of a couple blowing a Jack O Lantern, a prank by school kids, a college virgin and a hermit.

To finish off my list of Halloween movies, I have Trick ‘R Treat, a horror cum crime movie.
