The Best Teen Movies List Every Teenager Should See

Ever heard a teenager shriek with happiness during a movie? That’s most probably because she just saw the cutest and most romantic scene in one of her favourite teen movies. Here is a list of the top 10 teenage films which if you haven’t watched you should find the time to watch.

If you’re looking for teen movies, then I’m sure you’d love these kids movies, Disney movies, alien movies, animated movies, fashion movies, musical movies, and the best romantic movies of all time.

1.    Grease (1978)

First on my list of best teen movies, is the summer love of Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) who meet each other on a trip to Australia and fall in love with each other having a short-lived love affair. When they leave, they think they will never meet again, but things go the other way round.

2.    The breakfast club (1985)

This teen movie is a typical high school teenage story of five young kids who get put into detention together. They do not get along at first but as time passes they realize that they have a lot in common and end up befriending each other.

A high school story about Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) and Cameron (Joseph Gordon) are in love but cannot be in a relationship unless Bianca’s sister Katarina (Julia Stiles) is in one. Cameron in his quest to find a boyfriend for Kat chooses a bad boy named Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger).

4.    The Princess Diaries (2001)

When Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) turns 16, she finds out that she is the princess and only heir to the throne of Genovia in Europe. Her grandmother Queen Clarisse (Julie Andrews) helps her rid herself of her clumsiness and shyness to become worthy to be the next queen of Genovia.

This movie is one of my favourite teen movies to watch.

5.    Freaky Friday (2003)

  • Actors: Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Mark Harmon, Harold Gould

Anna (Lindsay Lohan) is a repulsive teenager and does not get along with her mother Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis). One Friday they wake up after having fought the previous night in different bodies and have to live each other’s life until they find a solution to return.

A fun teenage movie filled with laughter and fun.

6.    Mean Girls (2004)

Cady (Lindsay Lohan) joins a new school which is ruled by The Plastics and mainly Regina George (Rachel McAdams). While she befriends Janis and Damian, they come up with a plan to get Cady into the group and bring about the downfall of The Plastics.

This teenage movie has got to be one of the most famous and favourites of teenagers around the world.

7.    She’s the Man (2006)

Viola (Amanda Bynes) loves football and when her football team gets cut she is devastated. Her twin brother Sebastian decides to skip his school and Viola seeing a chance goes in place of her brother. Things take a turn in her life when she falls in love with her roommate Duke (Channing Tatum).

8.    Juno (2007)

She is all ready to abort the baby, but as she keeps thinking about it, she changes her mind and keeps the baby with plans to give it up for adoption.

Juno is a teenage movie that you will enjoy and relate to.

9.    Easy A (2010)

At first, she doesn’t know how to react to the rumour but later starts using it to her advantage and making friends and increasing her social life. Everything goes haywire when the rumour goes out of control.

Last on my list is one of the best teen movies ever made ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’.

Charlie (Logan Lerman) is a young high school student who is an introvert and dealing with a lot of mental stress with the death of his best friend and his mental health too. He befriends two seniors Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson) who help him and teach him to live life to the fullest.
