1.    Dawn of the dead (1978)

The first movie on my list of Zombie movies is an old but scary one. A sudden zombie apocalypse breaks out, and four survivors run and find shelter in a mall. They kill all the zombies inside, stack up all the necessities and shut down the mall. Their problems get greater when a gang of bikers enter the mall, and the four people now have to fight off both the bikers and the zombies. Will they survive?

2.    Resident Evil (2002)

Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only hope of the military to stop an infection that turns humans into flesh-eating zombies. The virus got out from a facility that was guarded correctly. Alice’s primary task is to find the computer in the shut-down facility and destroy it.

The Resident Evil franchise with Milla Jovovich in action is always entertaining to watch and is one of the excellent Zombie movies.

3.    Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a failure at life and has only one best friend named Ed (Nick Frost). He decides to win back his ex-girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield), but a zombie frenzy starts. Now, Shaun has no other way but to prove his worth to Liz by helping all of them survive.

This Zombie Movie is a combination of both horror and comedy, so if you’re looking for a little bit of laughter with horror, this is the one.

4.    28 weeks later (2007)

  • Actors: Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne, Robert Carlyle, Harold Perrineau

A virus hits Britain, and the population starts to get affected with the deadly infection. Six months after the incident the US army quarantines London and finds survivors to help repopulation. Everything is going well until the virus somehow makes it way inside the safe area and everything starts to go haywire.

5.    Planet Terror (2007)

  • Actors: Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Josh Brolin

This movie is another story about the spread of an epidemic disease which has turned all humanity into zombies, and the survivors have to stop not only the people who have been affected but also the people behind the release of the disease.

6.    I am Legend (2007)

  • Actors: Will Smith, Alice Braga, Charlie Tahan

The world has been consumed with a zombie-like disease as Robert Neville (Will Smith) was not able to find a cure. Many years have passed, and Robert has only his dog and is still trying to find a cure. He captures an infected female zombie and takes her to his lab. Robert goes out every day to see if there are any survivors but one day his dog dies on one of his ventures. Just when he thinks his world has ended survivors, Annie and her son Ethan find Robert.

I am Legend is one of my favourite Zombie movies to watch, I mean, isn’t Will Smith just amazing?

7.    Zombieland (2009)

  • Actors: Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin

It’s the twenty-first century, and America has been consumed by Zombies. A young student named Columbus has managed to survive following his rules. He is curious whether his parents are alive and wants to travel to Ohio and meets Tallahassee (Woody), a fun guy along the way. When the two reach Florida, they run into two sisters Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail). The four are the only survivors but will they be able to make it through to the end?

Zombieland is also a Zombie movie with a little bit of humour along the way but a pretty decent movie to watch.

8.    World War Z (2013)

There is nothing Brad Pitt cannot do! A must watch Zombie movie that’ll have you on pins until the end.

9.    Warm Bodies (2013)

  • Actors: Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton

R (Nicholas Hoult) is a zombie who saves a human girl Julie (Teresa Palmer). The two start spending time together and develop a special relationship. As R starts falling in love with Julie, the most unexpected thing happens, he slowly begins becoming human. Will this mean the change of fate of all zombies?

Romance in a Zombie movie! I love this movie and recommend it highly even though there is not much action, the concept is lovely.

10.  Train to Busan (2016)

  • Actors: Yoo Gong, Yu- Mi Jung, Dong- Seok Ma
  • Gross revenue: $87 million

A plant leak causes an outbreak of a disease that turns starts turning all the people of Korea into Zombies. Seok- Woo (Yoo Gong) is on his way to Busan with his daughter to meet his ex-wife. A zombie gets into the compartment and starts spreading. A bogey of people fights for their lives to make it to the area that has been barricaded by the army.

My list of Zombie movies would not be complete without the Zombie Blockbuster of 2016. The fight sequence, as well as the storyline and casting, is mind-blowing. If you haven’t already watch it, don’t waste your time. Go! Go!
