George majored in landscape architecture from Ohio State University where he played for Ohio State Buckeyes Football and won the Heisman Trophy. He also holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Football
George was the first-round draft selection of the Tennessee Titans in 1996 NFL Draft. Eddie was positioned as a running back in the NFL. He played for the Titans from 1996 to 2003. George was released from the Titans due to decline in his productivity because of several toe and ankle injuries.
Later in 2004, he signed a one-year contract with Dallas Cowboys for $1.5 million and officially retired in 2006 when he was 30.
His total career totals include 10,441 rushing yards, 268 receptions, 2,227 receiving yards and 78 touchdowns.
In the span of 9 seasons in NFL, George achieved many awards including NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year(1996), Walter Camp Award, Doak Walker Award and Big Ten Most Valuable Player.

As his retirement days were nearing, George was looking for ways to start a business in landscape designing. In 2003, he founded Edge Group, landscape architecture and design firm which was merged with Design Place within a year. Although his major in landscape architecture was handy, he wanted to enhance his knowledge about business, finance and management. He soon got an MBA from Northwestern University in 2011 and is currently a very successful entrepreneur.
Eddie started a restaurant in Nashville, Eddie George’s Sports Grill which was shut down after a four-year run. Later he started another restaurant in Ohio, Eddie George’s Grill 27 which is running successfully.
He is part owner of Elite clothing line with Jerome Bettis.
