If you look for free gaming websites on Google, it sometimes bombards you with similar website names in the search results. It’s very annoying for a user when this happens. In fact, when you Google ‘FRIV’, hundreds of similar name websites show in the search results! Some of these sites are – FRIV 2, 3, 4, 5, even FRIV 1000!

But, don’t worry, after reading this post, you will not be confused. You can also check out my review here.

First of all, what is FRIV?

It is nothing but the short form of ‘frivolous’ which means doing an activity that doesn’t have any seriousness or value, such as playing games online.

However, if children play video games for a little while per day, it may help them craft their judgements and skills better.

For example, Sara’s Cooking Classes is a cooking game. Kids can learn about different ingredients, utensils, blender, baking, flavours, etc.

As many flash games on these sites allow a child to aesthetically see and appreciate various people & objects such as girl, boy, trees, car, food, utensils, ball, etc. Thus, building aesthetic appreciation, which is an essential motor skill to develop in children with age < 8 years.

Is it safe for children?

While these sites help a bit. It is not entirely safe to allow kids to access the internet without any supervision.

There are many spammy websites & hackers out there, and it may ultimately lead to a severe personal data breach, or the kids may also reach some inexplicit content by clicking on the screen any which way.

The problem with FRIV is, there are so many portals with that name. And you can’t guess which one would be original. Therefore, you don’t know which one to click!

It’s funny. Imagine you go to a supermarket store to buy Hershey’s chocolate sauce, but the store shows you Hershey’s, Hershey’s 2, Hershey’s 3,4,5…1000! Would you be able to buy one?

Of course, No!

Why so many versions? FRIV 2, 3, 4, 5, 1000, etc.

Since these games are created & provided by developers, I can understand having some games on the site that are same as other websites.

But, many websites literally has the same look and feel of the website as that of the main website.

Since none of these websites provides any data about themselves, it’s hard to find out which one is real or by the actual developers.

However, according to a post on Lifewire, below are the websites that belong to the same games network/company:

Over to you

Look, I only play games on any platform for 10-15 minutes maximum only when I’m taking a break from work. I am cautious of my browsing, and I don’t care much about the inexplicit content even if it shows.

But, parents with kids should maintain a level of supervision while the kids play and have some frivolous time on their laptop or tablet.

Do you know the whereabouts of the websites on the list? Do you know of any other spam or safe site? Based on your recommendation in the comments, I will be able to update the post accordingly.
