Be it home or office; you must have faced a situation where you go on a mission of finding your router IP address. It becomes more difficult if you are from a non-IT background. In reality, it is quite easy to find router IP address. But, before we start, let us clear some basics.
Any broadband router has two IP addresses as public IP address and private IP address. The public IP address is also known as external IP address. A public IP address is used to hook you up with the internet. No two public IP could be same at any cost.
Whereas, a private IP address is used to maintain the internal or private network. Any two-separate internal or private networks could have a precisely same IP address. The reason is simple; no private IP address can talk outside their private network.
In short, any computer or networking device on a private network first talk to the router through private IP address. Then the router accesses the internet through its public IP address assigned by ISP (internet service provider). It means, the router sits in between your PC and ISP as a middleman.
Now let’s see how to find your router’s IP address.
