Google Chrome is not a default internet browser on neither Windows operating system nor Mac OS. Import bookmarks from Safari, Internet Explorer or Firefox to Chrome

  • Launch Chrome browser.
  • Click the Chrome menu (three vertical dots) on the right-most side of browser window.
  • Go into Settings.
  • Under the People section, click Import bookmarks and settings.
  • Now you can choose your browsers from which you would like to import the bookmarks.
  • The moment you select the browser, you will get further options to choose. These options are Browsing History, Favorites/bookmarks, Saved passwords, Search engines and Autofill form data.
  • Select per you need and click Import.
  • Within a few minutes, all data will be imported to Chrome.

Import bookmarks from a Bookmarks HTML file

There could also be a possibility that you want to import books to Chrome from a Bookmarks HTML file. Usually, this scenario arises when you install Google Chrome on a new system. You can export bookmark from Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and also chrome itself. The resultant file is an HTML file.

  • Launch Chrome browser.
  • Click the Chrome menu (three vertical dots) on the right-most side of browser window.
  • Go into Settings.
  • Under the People section, click Import bookmarks and settings.
  • Now select Bookmarks HTML File in the drop-down menu.
  • Click CHOOSE FILE and browse the HTML file.
  • Click Open and then import the file into Chrome.

Note: If you have an internet connection and want to import bookmark and other data into Google Chrome then just sign in with your Gmail or Google email ID. Automatically, all data will be copied into your new Chrome browser without any requirement of data import.
