Early Life

Lawrence Edward Page was born in East Lansing, Michigan, the U.S. As a child, Page was an avid reader, and he also played the saxophone and studied music composition.

He attended Okemos Montessori School and graduated from East Lansing High School. He also earned Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University. He also holds a PhD from Stanford University.

Recently, reports stated that Page is personally funding an air taxi startup Kitty Hawk, which is testing its aircraft “Cora”. Kitty Hawk is the subsidiary of Zee.Aero and the company is working on flying cars which is expected to become a reality by 2021, its competitors being Airbus, Boeing and Uber.

Google is undoubtedly one of the most famous search engines, and Page has been garnered with several awards for his services. He was named a World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow in 2002, received Marconi Foundation’s Prize, and he is also the recipient of EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2003.
