Meghan Markle, widely popular for her role in the TV series Suits, is worth $5 million. Beginning her career as a briefcase model, she is one the most successful actresses today. Meghan calls herself a feminist and fights for various causes concerning women. She is one of the most notable humanitarians.

Early Life

Meghan Markle was born and raised in LA. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre and international studies in 2003.

She married actor Trevor Engleson in 2004, and the couple filed for a divorce in 2011 which got finalised in 2013. Markle met Prince Harry in 2016 on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend and the couple got engaged in 2017.


Markle began her career by writing calligraphy invitations between acting auditions to support her. She also worked for the U.S. embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a brief period.

She made brief appearances in various TV series including General Hospital, Cuts, one vs 100, Good Behavior and Knight Rider. Meghan was also one of the briefcase models in the popular US show, ‘Deal or No Deal’.

Meghan Markle rose to fame when she signed to star in a well-known TV series ‘Suits’, as Rachel Zane, the paralegal who eventually becomes the advocate. The series has become famous worldwide and has received numerous nominations for various awards.

Markle has also appeared in films including A Lot like Love, Remember me, Get Him to The Greek, Horrible Bosses, Dysfunctional Friends, Random Encounters and  Anti-Social.

Markle has founded a lifestyle website The Tig in 2014 and remained as an editor-in-chief up to 2017.

It’s believed that the net worth of Meghan is more or less a whopping $5 Million, which is slightly lower than that of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, whose net worth stands around $7.5 Million and almost irrelevant when compared to Prince Harry, whose net worth is roughly $40 Million! She earned about $50,000 per episode of suits. She also makes around $80,000 a year from sponsorships and endorsement deals.

House and Car

Although a Millionaire, Meghan does not lead a lavish lifestyle. Before she moved to Kensington, the actress rented out a three bedroom bungalow with a private backyard in Seaton Village neighbourhood of Toronto. She leased an Audi SUV worth around $54000.


In 2016, Markle enjoyed an endorsement with Canadian clothing company Reitmans, with which she designed a women’s workwear line.


The actress, who is soon going to be a part of the royal family, has been a part of numerous philanthropic activities. Meghan identifies as a feminist and focuses a lot on issues concerning women. She stood up against gender inequality when she was just 11. Upon seeing a sexist advertisement on TV, Marklee wrote a letter to the company concerned which was supported by Hillary Clinton, Linda Ellerbee and Gloria Allred after which the company changed the wording in the commercial.

She was a counsellor for One Young World and raised her voice for causes like gender equality and modern day slavery.

In 2014, Markle travelled to Afghanistan and Spain as part of the USO Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Holiday Tour.

In 2016, Markle became a global ambassador for World Vision Canada and participated in Clean Water Campaign.

Meghan Markle supports Myna Mahila Foundation, an organisation where women manufacture sanitary pads to sell in communities. She also visited India to raise awareness concerning women. She met girls and women directly impacted by the stigmatisation of menstrual health and learned how it hinders girls’ education.

Markle closely worked with The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women as an advocate.

On Feb 28, 2018, Markle made her first joint official engagement with Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, at a forum of the Royal Foundation Making a Difference Together.

In a recent interview, Markle said that as she begins to work with royal charities, she wants to shine a light on women feeling empowered.


Meghan Markle is all set to marry Prince Harry in May! The star has made it official that she would not be returning to Suits after the wedding.
