If you have a desktop computer with Wi-Fi enabled network adapter, then you can turn off Wi-Fi from the control panel. Go to the control panel and disable Wi-Fi. Doing this will disable the Wi-Fi of the computer until you enable it again.
You can also plug out the network adapter if it is USB based. Make sure to follow instructions before you unhook the hardware. If not correctly handled, it will lead to data loss.
There is one more option to do this is by disconnecting the Wi-Fi by clicking on the icon present in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on the icon, and it will show on what network you are presently connected to and will also show the disconnect option in front of the network name.
