William Shatner was born in Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Montreal, Canada. He attended Willingdon Elementary School and West Hill High School. He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. The 86 year old actor has been married four times- first to Gloria Rand, second to Marcy Lafferty and third to Nerine Kidd. After the demise of his wife, he married Elizabeth Martin.

After his graduation, William Shatner began his career as a business manager in the Mountain Playhouse in Montreal. Soon he joined the Canadian National Repertory Theatre in Ottawa, to be trained as a Shakespearean actor after which he began to perform in various roles at the Stratford festival.

Shatner made his movie debut in the Canadian film Butler’s Night Out in the year 1951. Later, he went on to appear in over 20 movies and 30 TV shows.
